The possibilities with Auracast™ broadcast audio
Auracast™ broadcast audio is driving an era of audio innovation, supporting a number of new use cases, from personal audio sharing with friends and family to multi-language, real-time translation during speaker presentations. For instance, imagine attending an event where a speaker’s lecture in English can be listened to in real time in Japanese, with the added benefit of switching to your preferred language as needed.
The following use cases are eagerly anticipated for Auracast™ broadcast audio.
- Audio sharing: Multiple users can listen to the same shared audio broadcast of a video or song using their own Auracast earbuds, headphones, or hearing instruments
- Audio broadcasts from TVs and screens: Multiple users can receive broadcasts from a single muted TV in a bar, restaurant, gym, or lobby
- Audio broadcasts from public address and sound systems: Multiple users can receive broadcasts from public address and sound systems in public locations to expand audio accessibility for visitors with all levels of hearing health
The future of Bluetooth audio
Nordic Semiconductor is striving to meet market expectations for Auracast™ broadcast audio by providing products that support new audio applications while maintaining high -quality sound that can be used across a range of new audio use cases, such as multilingual broadcast transmitters. This will require multi-processors capable of utilizing multiple streams as well as data and AI processing. A low power consumption design is at the core of Nordic’s philosophy.
