Modular architecture for enhanced vehicle access with Bluetooth® Channel sounding
Bluetooth LE now serves multiple purposes in automotive systems. Evolving from its legacy RKE use case, it is now also used for RSSI‑based (pre‑)ranging and as the primary data channel between the Digital Key and the vehicle within the CCC context or ICCE/ICCOA, giving it a central role. The release of Channel sounding in the new Bluetooth LE Core 6.0 allows the implementation of much more accurate ranging and pre‑ranging techniques than previously possible.
With Handover in a multi-anchor architecture, the Bluetooth LE layer in Car Access takes a major leap forward, unlocking a fully integrated system‑level approach. Bluetooth Low Energy is now emerging as a core building block for the next generation of automotive technologies.
