Qualification test facilities program overview
Bluetooth Qualification Test Facilities (BQTFs) and Bluetooth Recognized Test Facilities (BRTFs) are test facilities recognized by the Bluetooth SIG to run qualification tests for Bluetooth SIG members.
A BQTF may provide testing services to all Bluetooth SIG members and may be listed in Bluetooth SIG’s public directory of test facilities. A BRTF may test only its own company’s products. Each facility is recognized only for the specific tests it has demonstrated the capability to perform.
Becoming a recognized test facility
If your company is interested in becoming a recognized BQTF or BRTF, or if your company has already been accepted into the test facilities program and would like to add an additional test facility, please inquire using the button at the bottom of this page. The Bluetooth SIG will respond with information about the program and next steps.
The Bluetooth SIG recognizes test facilities at its sole discretion. Recognition is granted on a per-facility basis, and a relocation or a change of company ownership or name may require re-application.
Recognition is valid for 12 months and must be renewed to remain in effect. Renewal is at the Bluetooth SIG’s discretion and is not automatic. The Bluetooth SIG provides renewal instructions directly to recognized facilities.
Responsibilities
Your company may not call its facility a Bluetooth Qualification Test Facility (BQTF) or Bluetooth Recognized Test Facility (BRTF) until the Bluetooth SIG confirms its recognition by countersigning and delivering a Facility Addendum for that facility. Once a facility is recognized, your company’s responsibilities are set out in the Bluetooth Qualification Testing Facility Agreement and include the following:
- Pay the non-refundable annual fee (see the Bluetooth SIG schedule of dues and fees)
- Actively participate in the Bluetooth Qualification Test Facility Group (BQTFG), attending at least 50 percent of its teleconferences and at least 50 percent of its face-to-face meetings each year
- Remain a Bluetooth SIG member in good standing
- Offer testing to Bluetooth SIG members only for the test cases your facility is authorized for
- Keep electronic copies of all test results and logs for at least five years
- Maintain the insurance required by the Bluetooth Qualification Testing Facility Agreement
- Keep each piece of test equipment current with the test system versions in the latest Test Case Reference List (TCRL)
- Submit an updated Test Scope Compliance Form for each recognized facility within three months of each TCRL release
- Calibrate test equipment at the intervals recommended or required by the equipment manufacturer, and maintain calibration records for each applicable piece of equipment
- Tell the Bluetooth SIG promptly about any change to your company’s ownership, name, or location — including a merger, acquisition, or restructuring — or any material change to a recognized facility or its operations
- Keep a valid ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation for each recognized facility (BQTFs only)
