Hannover Messe 2018

In September of 2018, Deutsche Messe staged its first-ever Hannover Messe outside of Germany. Co-located with IMTS, Hannover Messe USA offered over 500 exhibitors showcasing the latest solutions in industrial and manufacturing technologies.

The Bluetooth SIG sponsored the Solutions Theatre on 11 September and hosted the following series of speaking sessions.

The Expanding Role of Wireless in Industry 4.0

This unique track featured four interactive sessions from industry leaders and showcased case studies and implementations of wireless technologies like Bluetooth and how it was expanding the footprint of the Industrial IoT (IIoT). The session concluded with a panel and Q&A session with all presenters.

Meeting the Needs of Industry 4.0

Chuck Sabin, Senior Director Business Strategy, Bluetooth SIG, spoke about asset tracking and management solutions, large-scale wireless sensor networks and automation through location services and mesh-networking capabilities.

The Emergence of Lighting as a Platform for Factory Automation

Ray Pfeifer, VP Sales & Business Development, Silvair discussed mesh networking and the emergence of lighting as a platform. 

Real-Time Condition Monitoring Using Bluetooth Wireless Sensor Networks

Cassia Networks spoke about how large-scale wireless sensor networks are lowering overall machine downtime and increasing flexibility in the manufacturing line.

Asset Management: Providing Transformational Improvement to Manufacturing

Attendees learned how industrial deployments of asset tracking and management solutions can help manufacturers improve material management and process flow and allow factories to achieve new levels of operational efficiency.
