Bluetooth SIG is seeking a fulltime Instructional Designer with Captivate and Camtasia experience. Use your instructional design skills and demonstrated best practices in adult learning to become an integral part of exciting training initiatives for a multi-national, multi-cultural audience.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with Senior Training Manager on an overall program for training within the Bluetooth SIG
  • Consults and collaborates with various teams to develop training module goals and objectives
  • Applies knowledge of instructional design theory to design course content, working with subject matter experts as an eLearning specialist
  • Applies knowledge of instructional design theory and adult learning principles to develop storyboards, training courses, job aids, scripts, videos, and other instructional materials that achieve business and performance goals
  • Modifies existing training curriculum, content, materials, job aids, etc. to meet learning needs by reviewing program evaluations, test results, and participant and manager feedback on training effectiveness
  • Organizes projects appropriately to accomplish deliverables while adhering to scope and timeline

As a Technical Writer on the Specification Management team, you will collaborate closely with representatives from member organizations across the global technology industry to write, edit, and release the specifications and other content deliverables that define the next generation of Bluetooth wireless technology. With an emphasis on upstream engagement in the technology development process, you will apply technical communication best practices to delivery of Bluetooth specs. Your role will include direct engagement with subject matter experts to define the ideal content strategy and information architecture for a given Bluetooth feature area, including writing informative or conceptual content that developers will use to create their Bluetooth-enabled products.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, write, and release content in support of new Bluetooth wireless technology features.
  • Edit and standardize content drafted by both fellow technical writers and SME contributors.
  • Create technical diagrams, message sequence charts, process flowcharts, and other illustrations to support the content you produce.
  • Collaborate with Bluetooth SIG Product Management, UX, and Engineering teams to produce user assistance for software tools and systems that support the specification development process.
  • Define and apply content strategy and information architecture best practices to the planning, design, and delivery of Bluetooth content deliverables.

The Bluetooth Qualification and Declaration Program is the backbone of Bluetooth Interoperability and Specifications Compliance. The Program ensures that all the Bluetooth products arriving on the market have received the right level of rigor in their testing through policies implemented in the Bluetooth SIG’s systems and puts the right level of responsibility on individual members while supporting them with appropriate testing resources.

As the Qualification Program Manager, you will have the exciting opportunity to own this core program and to drive impactful policy and process changes, and tools development that can directly improve the way the rapidly-growing SIG membership qualifies, tests, and declares their products.
