Abstract:
Manufacturers of hearing devices have long been looking to improve direct-to-ear audio capabilities to improve the hearing health and hearing experience for users. Bluetooth® technology has introduced Auracast™ broadcast audio, a new capability that will change the way people with hearing devices interact with others and the world around them. This new standard for developers of audio devices will enable high-quality audio to be broadcast directly to hearing instruments, from personal devices, public address systems, personal and public televisions, and assistive audio systems in public spaces, including places of worship, theaters, conference centers, restaurants, bars, gyms, and more. Utilizing Auracast™ broadcast audio will offer new ways to engage users with the audio experiences around them. Similar to how Wi-Fi delivers internet access in public spaces, Auracast™ from Bluetooth technology will deliver audio access to users in public spaces. Whether it is one, one-hundred or a thousand people, everyone can have access to high-quality, direct-to-ear audio from the source. In this session, Chuck Sabin, Senior Director of Market Development at the Bluetooth Special Interest Group will discuss the latest developments, demonstrations, and roadmap for Auracast™ broadcast audio.

Supporting products are available now. Discover how Auracast™ is being used in new hearing devices, where this new Bluetooth® standard is being deployed in public infrastructure today, and how this new capability is propelling new opportunities for audio access to people with all levels of hearing health.
