What’s the Range of Auracast™ Broadcast Audio?

Auracast™ Broadcast Audio ~100 meters: Mains powered Auracast™ public transmitters broadcasting a one-way audio broadcast can turn their transmit power up and will contain a more sophisticated antenna, greatly expanding their coverage area.

Paired Audio Connection ~10 meters: Bluetooth® Classic audio solutions have long been designed for a source and sink device to establish a paired, two-way connection within a small, personal coverage area.

Can You Add Auracast™ Support to Existing Devices?

Yes. A complete suite of retrofit solutions is in development. Auracast™ dongles and streamers for phones, tablets, laptops, and TVs will be coming to market, transforming existing audio source devices into Auracast™ transmitters.

So too will plug-in adapters for commercial sound and public address systems, allowing public locations to turn their venue into an Auracast™ location using their existing sound systems.

Other retrofit solutions including Auracast™️ neck loops, standalone assistants, and smartphone applications from device manufacturers will help round out the retrofit ecosystem and enable users with legacy receiver devices to experience Auracast™️ sooner than later.

Is the Number of Auracast™ Receivers Really Unlimited?

Yes, really. Auracast™ broadcasts function in a similar way to standard FM radio broadcasts. There is no connection between the transmitter and receiver, and the transmitter is completely unaware of the number of devices that have tuned in to the broadcast. In this way, the number of potential receivers truly is unlimited.

FM Radio Transmitter: An FM transmitter broadcasts a single audio signal that any number of FM receivers can tune into.

Auracast™ Transmitter: An Auracast™ transmitter broadcasts a single audio signal that any number of in-range Auracast™ receivers can join.

Bluetooth® Classic

Auracast™
