The Protestant Church is preparing to introduce Auracast™ broadcast audio as part of its efforts to support people who rely on assistive listening technologies. According to Frans Szabo, the church’s mission is centered on serving its congregation and visitors, including those who may benefit from improved access to audio during services and other activities.

The problem statement

As a supplier of tour guide systems and audio communication solutions, headsets.at closely monitors emerging technologies that can improve the listening experience for end The church was not facing major operational challenges with its existing assistive listening setup. However, Szabo identified an important limitation with its existing hearing loop system. Many modern hearing aids do not work with induction loop technology, creating a potential accessibility gap for some users.

As hearing aid technology advances, organizations that rely on legacy assistive listening systems may find that compatibility becomes an increasing concern. While the existing solution continued to function as intended, the church recognized the importance of considering technologies that could better support newer hearing devices and provide a more future-ready approach to accessibility.

The Auracast™ solution

Deployment

While researching available options, Szabo discovered Auracast™ broadcast audio through an online search. After evaluating the technology, the church chose to move forward with an Auracast™ assistive listening solution.

Several factors influenced the decision. “Auracast™ broadcast audio as both the most modern and the most cost-efficient option available,” said Szabo. “The church selected the earisMAX Auracast™ transmitter for its deployment. It appeared straightforward and easy to implement with no significant challenges identified during the preparation and installation stages.”

Benefits

The church has not had the opportunity to measure operational improvements or gather user feedback. While measurable outcomes are not yet available, the decision to adopt a modern assistive listening technology reflects the church’s commitment to ensuring accessibility remains aligned with evolving hearing technologies.

“It is too early to identify any additional benefits resulting from the installation,” said Szabo. We are taking a practical approach and will evaluate the impact of the system after it has been fully deployed and used.”

A look ahead

As the deployment moves forward, the church expects to gain a clearer understanding of how Auracast™ broadcast audio supports congregation members and visitors who use hearing assistance technologies. Future feedback and real-world usage will help determine the full impact of the solution.
