New Group Notice: Specification Automation Task Force

On 2 July 2019, the Bluetooth SIG Board of Directors approved the formation of the Specification Automation Task Force (SATF). The task force’s mission is to create a vision and strategy for the Bluetooth SIG’s specification development tools and methods that leverage industry best practices to provide greater efficiency and quality in specification production and increased value to members, and to identify clear next steps in realizing that vision. The SATF will investigate many aspects of spec automation, including but not limited to the following topics:

  • Automating the creation of structured documents
  • Improving management of the Assigned Numbers
  • Creating a more agile process for updating the Mesh Device Properties (MDP) and GATT Specification Supplement (GSS)
  • Developing requirements for a common Message Sequence Chart (MSC) generation tool

The SATF is open to Associate and Promoter members only. If you are interested in helping to identify opportunities, develop a strategy, and make recommendations, the SIG encourages you to join the Specification Automation Task Force. To join, please visit the SATF group page.
