After the successful participation of the Bluetooth SIG in the Wearable Technologies area at ispo winter in Munich earlier this month, the Bluetooth SIG took the chance for a first time exhibition at ispo china 2009. ispo china is the international tradeshow for sports, fashion and lifestyle brands in Asia. ispo Winter: recap

For the second year, the Bluetooth SIG took part in the Wearable Technology pavilion to promote the new possibilities with Bluetooth low energy technology in the sports and fitness market. ispo Winter is probably the largest trade show for sporting goods with 16 exhibition halls and over 2000 exhibitors. The demand for a global wirless transfer standard is great and the the major players in the industry are getting ready for the first version of Bluetooth low energy technology.

In addition, Bluetooth SIG Marketing Director Anders Edlund held the key note at the 3rd Wearable Technologies Conference "Where Fashion meets Technology" and on 2 February the Bluetooth Innovation World Cup was launched at a press conference where Polar, Nokia, WFSGI and ispo embraced Bluetooth low energy and made great commitment to this technology. Bluetooth Innovation World Cup

Bluetooth Innovation World Cup is an international competition to foster new innovations and ideas for applications in the fields of sports, fitness and healthcare. The Bluetooth Innovation World Cup aims at stimulating these markets, creating new fields of applications and establishing Bluetooth low energy technology as the wireless data transfer standard for low energy applications. The competition will go on for three years, starting 1 June 2009, and will be communicated extensively on a global basis.

Trade Show Participation

The Bluetooth SIG participates in trade shows on a world-wide basis throughout the year. Participation in tradeshows varies from keynote speaking opportunities to panel discussions to partnerships with the trade show. Through participation in trade shows, the Bluetooth SIG is able to help our members excite others about Bluetooth wireless technology.
